Brad “Chief” Johnston – Why Do you care who I am?
Albert Einstein once said that “life is like riding a bicycle, you have to keep moving to keep your balance.” What he missed in that quote is that you have to keep looking where you want to go as well. I am looking to change my part of the world, not the whole world, just my little corner of it. I did that for 25 years as a police officer working as a patrol officer, detective, sergeant, deputy chief and chief. During my career in policing I focused on two things, making my corner of the world better and making the people I worked with better. I spent a lot of time learning to be the best police officer I could be and how to teach those techniques, strategies, and skills to others. In my “retirement” I find myself trying to make my corner of the world better by providing quality education in the secondary environment. Currently that is teaching technology classes. Soon I hope to move to social studies and maybe even criminal justice curriculum but the bottom line is it will be quality education, that encourages critical thinking.
I plan to help you here with thoughts about the world at large. I will never tell you how to think but I hope that I can help you see a perspective you may not otherwise hear.
